Are you an excellent translator? Are you professional in your services, meeting deadlines and returning client email rapidly? Do you want to be publicly identified as a translator with those qualities? Then it is time to submit yourself for Apogee Certification.
Why get Certified?
- Visibility. Our Certification lists are publicly disseminated, free to all publishers everywhere. This is unlike uncertified lists on Proz.com or TranslatorsCafe.com, since those listings are open to everyone. Only a few, very serious translators will appear on this list.
- Pricing. By being Apogee Certified, a translator can justify a higher rate for services rendered.
- More and better clients. A Certified Translator will receive more requests for more projects. Publishers using Apogee Certified Translators are also more concerned about quality.
- Billing Services. Some large publishers have avoided employing individual translators due to the necessity of setting up each new translator with their Accounts Payable department. Apogee offers Client Publishers the opportunity to have a single point for invoicing and POs, without the necessity of setting up each individual translator. For tax purposes, Client Publishers can be billed from Apogee’s parent, Solon Enterprises, a Class “C” California corporation.
What happens in Certification? You will receive a timed translation test to complete. You will also need to respond to test query emails sent to you over a period of time. We will need to interview project managers on your previous projects. There is a modest fee, equivalent to approximately one and a half days' work, to initiate the Certification process.
Are you ready? Apogee Certification will take between three and six weeks to complete. Translators will be tested on a first come, first serve basis.
Send your contact information and resume, including previous projects completed and language pairs, to cert@apogeecommunications.com.
Even if you are undecided, it is highly recommended that you add yourself to the Apogee Certification interest mailing list, here. All official news, updates and changes will be issued there first.
